Charles "Chuck" Ramsay

d. January 7, 2026

Charles "Chuck" Ramsay, 91, passed away peacefully on January 7, 2026, in De Pere, Wisconsin, surrounded by his children and his beloved wife of 68 years, Georgia.

Born in Cheboygan, Michigan, and raised in Dearborn, Chuck was a lifelong and captivating storyteller. After serving in the U.S. Navy, he began his broadcasting career in Michigan's Upper Peninsula.

In 1965, Chuck joined WBAY-TV in Green Bay, first as Sports Director and Anchor, and in 1971 as News Anchor. For 45 years, he was a constant presence in northeastern Wisconsin homes where in moments of uncertainty or celebration, viewers turned to Chuck, reassured by his gentle voice and grounded integrity. A pioneer in his field, his work took him far beyond local newsrooms, from reporting from the Saudi Arabian desert during the War in Iraq to a small speaking role in the 1959 Academy Award nominated film Anatomy of a Murder, starring Jimmy Stewart. Chuck was inducted into the Wisconsin Broadcaster Hall of Fame in 2003.

Chuck met the love of his life, Georgia, on a blind date. They shared nearly seven decades of marriage and adventure. They loved to travel and were happiest outdoors, spending countless hours hunting, golfing, fishing, and gardening. Even in the quiet beauty of the homes they curated together, Chuck and Georgia approached life as a team.

A father figure to many, Chuck took pride in investing in his cherished family and community. He contributed generously to numerous charitable organizations and served as an elder at Green Bay Community Church. He is remembered not only as a revered broadcaster, but as a man whose love of stories, both on the air and in everyday life, made people feel seen, connected, and inspired. Grounded in faith throughout his life, Chuck now rests peacefully in the presence of Jesus.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Chuck and Ethel Ramsay, and his son, Ron Ramsay. He is survived by Georgia; his children, Robin Toohill (Joe), Rebecca Roby (Garrick), and Scott Ramsay (Christoph); his grandchildren, Ian Toohill and Elizabeth Mueller; Jesse, Brian, and Corey Ramsay; Chelsea and Raesha Sule; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held January 24 from 10:00 - 11:45 a.m. with a memorial service to follow from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. at Springlake Church at 2240 Klondike Road, Green Bay, Wisconsin.

In lieu of Flowers, the family would ask that gifts be made to the Wisconsin Parkinson Association and Unity Hospice.
