Charles “Chuck” R. Martin passed away on September 18, 2024 at home with his family by his side. He was born June 30, 1949 in Green Bay, WI to the late Lester Martin and Lila (Rickel) Martin. Chuck graduated from West De Pere High School in 1968. He married the former Betty Lasee on June 7, 1969. Chuck served his country in the Air Force beginning in 1969, including a tour in Vietnam. After his return, he worked at Green Bay Packaging for 45 years until his retirement in 2011.
He enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, and especially time with his family. He loved doing woodworking projects for family and friends. Chuck was a member of West Side Moravian Church serving as a trustee, assisting with lawn maintenance and projects, and helping with Packer game day parking.
Chuck is survived by his wife Betty; children: David and Scott Martin; granddaughter: Jessica, great-grandchildren: Sawyer and Madison; siblings: Carol (Jerry) Wilmet, Gary (Wendy) Martin, Dan (Marie) Martin, Wendy Braun, Mary Kay (Bob) Raasch; sisters-in-law: Cathy Martin, Marna (Allen) Johns, and Sharon Humblet; brother-in-law Bill (Alice) Lasee, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers: Lester Martin and Paul Martin; brothers-in-law Randy Braun and Don Humblet.
Family and friends may gather beginning at 9:30 am on Thursday, October 3, 2024, at West Side Moravian Church, 1707 S. Oneida St, Green Bay. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am with Rev. Marian Boyle Rohloff officiating. Chuck will be laid to rest at West Moravian Cemetery with military honors.
