Bellevue

Carolyn Zawacki, 72 years young, passed away peacefully on June 23, 2024, with her loving husband and children by her side.

Carolyn was born on January 25, 1952, in Passaic, NJ to the late Ralph and Sophie (Zepka) West. She was the oldest sister to Lorraine (Marc) Daniels of Lansdale, PA, Linda (Tom) Bramhall of Toms River, NJ, the late Marianne West of Wayne, NJ, and Ralph (Kim) West of Clifton, NJ.

In 1969, Carolyn met her future husband Henry. They spent 53 loving years together. They went on to have three lovely children; Tracey (Pete) Mommaerts of Suamico, WI, Michael (Patti) Zawacki of Green Bay, WI, and Melissa (Steve) Richter of De Pere, WI. In 1977, leaving close family and friends behind, Carolyn and Henry moved their family to Green Bay, WI to begin a new chapter in their life.

Carolyn worked as the Box Office Manager at the Brown County Veterans Memorial Arena for many years. She finished her career at Wisconsin Public Service, retiring in 2019. Throughout her careers, she developed many meaningful relationships and friendships. Throughout her life she was an avid bowler, she loved reading, spending time with her late, dear friend Debbie, sunshine and water, spending time with her family, phone calls with her sisters and laughing with her husband Henry. Carolyn will always be remembered for her giant heart, infectious smile, contagious laugh and sarcastic sense of humor.

In addition to her husband and children, Carolyn is survived by her grandchildren; Brock (Lily) Holtschlag, Kasheah (Jalen) Greenlee, Bayli (Zachary) Jahnke, Olivia, Jada, and Ava, future great-grand-daughter, Baby Girl Jahnke and dog Louie, as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Carolyn is preceded in death by her father-in-law Chester Zawacki, mother-in-law Josephine Zawacki and sister in-law Laura (Pete) Halatin.

Our family would like to extend our gratitude to the amazing and caring staff at Bellin Cancer Team, Bellin Hospital and Unity Hospice.

 Private family services were held.

“Mom, take it easy on Dad up there. We know you’ll hear him tapping from heaven. Love you more!”
