Caroline M. Kocken, age 91, of De Pere, passed away peacefully October 2, 2021 surrounded by family. She was born in Green Bay on August 5, 1930 to James and Marie (Lasee) Wicker and was raised in Glenmore, WI. On May 10, 1952, she married Norbert “Norb” Kocken at St. Mary Catholic Church in Glenmore, and he preceded her in death in 2005. Caroline had a love of family and friends. She enjoyed bowling, especially the bowling trips she took with Norb and their friends, and was never one to pass on a game of cards. She was skilled at quilting, ceramics and other crafts. Her grandchildren will cherish the quilts she made each of them.
Her quick smile will be dearly missed by her children: Bill (Mary) Kocken of Minnesota, Roger (Kim) of Louisiana, David (Paula) Kocken of Minnesota,, Marianne (Ron) Fritsch of Greenleaf and Donna (Greg) Zuehls of De Pere; grandchildren: Emily (Wade) Scheevel, Carrie (Ross) Budnick, Brian (special friend Laura Geick) Kocken, Melissa (Jody) Shugart, Andrew (Jackie) Kocken, Eric (Alexandria Polizzi) Kocken, Michael (Emma) Kocken, Carolyn Kocken, Ken (LeAnne) Fritsch, Brenda (fiancé Nick Summers) Fritsch and Curtis Zuehls; 9 great-grandchildren; a sister Catherine Gossen; sisters-in-law: Eunice Kocken, Marie Vanden Elzen and Dotti Wicker as well as other family.
She was preceded in death by her husband Norb and her parents, as well as siblings: Clarence Wicker, Bud (Dorothy) Wicker, Murella Wicker, Genevieve (Leo) Kozlowski, Lauretta (Wilbur) Goffard, Bernard (Alice) Wicker, Sister Marie Therese, Richard (Shirley) Wicker, as well as Norb’s family.
Family and friends may visit at St. Mary Catholic Church, 4805 Sportsman Drive, Ledgeview, on Saturday, October 16, from 9:00am until 10:45am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am with Fr. Mike Ingold officiating. Entombment will be in the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum. Cotter Funeral and Cremation Care is assisting the family.
