It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Carol Ann Widi, of Green Bay, age 77, a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, on August 18, 2026.
Carol was born in Green Bay, WI to the late Joseph and Mary (Kugel) Arvey on July 8, 1949. She was a graduate from Caroline Academy in 1967 and went on to at Mount Mary College. Carol’s career in the food service industry spanned over two decades, from 1970 to 1995, during which she demonstrated her commitment to hospitality and care. Following this, she spent 22 years as an industrial seamstress at Midwest Textile from 1994 to 2016, showcasing her impeccable skills and creativity. Her creativity and entrepreneurial spirit served her well when she owned her own bakery, Carol’s Bake Shop and created sewn items for craft shows as Widi Designs.
Beyond her professional life, Carol was passionate about her hobbies, including cooking, sewing, and gardening. She also enjoyed collecting all things with rabbits and has hundreds of collectibles, cookie jars, pictures and figurines. She took immense pride in her beautiful rose garden and her beloved clematis, nurturing life and beauty both in her home and in the lives of those around her. She enjoyed spending time with friends, hosting soup swaps and other gatherings, and playing games.
As a devoted member of Resurrection Catholic Church, Carol lived out her faith and was actively involved in the church community through her participation in the hospitality group, the Hilltoppers, and the prayer shawl group. She volunteered at Feeding America, and was quick to sign up when meals were being made for the homeless shelters. Her kindness, warmth, and generosity touched the lives of many, and her spirit will continue to resonate within all she has influenced.
Carol is survived by children; Donna (Patrick) Hahn, Theresa Torrey, and David Torrey. Her grandchildren; Erin Lenss and Hillary Filios, brothers; Michael Arvey, James Arvey ( special friend Ann Kinnard), Robert Arvey, and her sister; Patricia (Blake) Perry, along with her extended family and friends, who will forever hold her memory in their hearts.
