Carol L. Van Zeeland, age 79, of Wrightstown, passed away Sunday, January 5, 2025. The daughter of the late Robert and Ethel Allen was born October 31, 1945, in Green Bay. She graduated from Wrightstown High School in the class of 1963. On September 8, 1965, she married Gerald Van Zeeland in Wrightstown and together they shared 52 years of marriage. After raising her children, she worked for Thrivent/AAL. Her faith was important to her, and in addition to being a life-long member of St. Clare Parish-St. Paul Site, she served as Eucharistic minister. In her spare time, she liked taking trips in the fall to enjoy the colors, baking treats with the grandchildren, took pride in cutting and caring for her well-groomed lawn and her beautiful roses. Grandma Carol enjoyed spending time with her family, and particularly loved time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her children: Robert (Cheryl), Scott (Kathy), and Eric (Wendy); beloved grandchildren: Megan Gmach and great-grandchildren Chloe, Emma and Hudson, Benjamin Van Zeeland and great-granddaughter Frankie, Courtney (Sam Van Wyk) Gmach, Ryan Van Zeeland, Mason Van Zeeland, Maiya Van Zeeland, Will Van Zeeland; Amanda (Luke) Syrjamaki and great-granddaughters McKenna and Reina, Samantha (Patrick) Ryder, Danielle Bassing, Ella Van Zeeland and Liam Van Zeeland; siblings Gene (Shirley) Allen, Gary (Joyce) Allen; in-laws Pat Van Schyndel, Maureen Van Zeeland, Don (Noreen) Van Zeeland, Joyce (Bob) Lamers, Dale (Muriel) Van Zeeland, Linda (Jerry) Boylan and Roger (Joyce) Van Zeeland, along with numerous nieces nephews, other family and friends.
Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry; her beloved daughter, Mary Lynn; parents in-law, Norbert and Marion Van Zeeland, brothers in law; Terry (Jeannette) Van Zeeland, and Tom Van Zeeland; nephews Shawn Van Zeeland and Russ Van Zeeland.
Family and friends may visit at St Clare Catholic Parish-St Paul Site, 437 Main St. Wrightstown, on Friday, January 10, 2025, beginning at 9:30am until 10:45am with the Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11:00am with Rev. Brian Wideman officiating. Burial will take place at St Paul Catholic Cemetery, Wrightstown. Cotter Funeral Home and Crematory is assisting the family.
