Carol Ann Kittell, 76, of Maribel passed away March 9th, after a courageous 8 year battle with metastatic breast cancer, with her loving husband Roger by her side. Carol was born in Appleton on July 17, 1946 to Harold and Charlotte (Peterson) Coenen. She graduated from Denmark High School in 1964, but was also an honorary graduate of Freedom High School as that is where she attend school through her Junior year. Carol married the love of her life on June 21, 1969 and together they shared 53 years of marriage, celebrating both their 50th and their 53rd wedding anniversaries in Tennessee with their entire family. Carol enjoyed baking, playing cards, gardening, and anything else she could do outside on a hot sunny day. In 1985 Carol received her nursing certificate and spent the rest of her career working at Manor Health Care where she especially enjoyed her years as a Physical Therapy Aide before retiring so that she could babysit for her precious granddaughters who meant the world to her. After retirement Carol also enjoyed traveling, cruising in her convertible and spending time at her cottage sitting around the bonfire.
Carol is survived by her husband, Roger; children, Rick Kittell-Denmark, Cheryl (Cory) Suchocki-Denmark; grandchildren, Sarah (Sebastian Hilbert) Suchocki-Luxemburg, and Emily Suchocki-Denmark. She is further survived by her siblings, Roger Coenen-Denmark, and Connie (Dean) Davister-Green Bay; brothers-in-law, Russell Kittell-Maribel, Merlin (Christine Leiterman) Kittell-Maribel, and John (Vicki) Kittell-Maribel along with many nieces, nephews, and friends.
In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by Roger’s parents Russell and Charlotte (Rezek) Kittell and sister-in-law, Judy Kittell.
Family and friends may visit at Cotter Funeral Home- Denmark (536 County Road R) on Monday, March 13, from 4-7pm. A prayer service will be held at 7pm. Visitation will continue on Tuesday at St. James Catholic Church-Cooperstown, 18228 County Road R, Denmark, from 10:00am until 10:45am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am with the Rev. William O’Brien officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family would like to thank the Bellin Cancer Team, specifically Dr. Kevin Mortara and Patti Marquardt, along with Unity Hospice, especially Margaret and Kristen, for their exceptional care of Carol.
