Carl H. Petersen (July 8, 1933 – July 3, 2026)

Carl Herman Petersen, 92, of De Pere, passed away peacefully with his daughters by his side on July 3rd, 2026. He was born on July 8, 1933, in the Town of Wrightstown to the late Herman & Sophia (Peterson) Petersen. Carl married Ila G. Franzke on August 14, 1954, at Zion United Methodist Church in Forest Junction. Together they raised two daughters while farming in the Town of Wrightstown. Over the years Carl had several jobs, including Eilers Cheese Factory, and spent many years with TEC Systems in De Pere until his retirement. After retirement Carl worked part-time delivering parts for Napa Auto Parts. Carl was an avid and accomplished bowler, especially at Manhattan Lanes in De Pere, well into his seventies. Carl also enjoyed many “Breakfasts on the Farm”, Farm Technology Days, and the Brown County Fair. He loved animals of all kinds but especially enjoyed the countless cats and kittens around the farm over the years. Carl and Ila took great pride and joy in their daughters, grandchildren and great grandchildren. There is nothing they would not do for them. They could often be found supporting them at their sporting events, many times traveling HOURS to watch them play.

Carl is survived by his daughters, Carla Falish (De Pere) and Sharon Petersen (Little Chute}. His 6 grandchildren and their families: Shannon (Brian) Gerrits, their children Ian Gerrits & Hailey Gerrits, Carl (Melissa Monette), his children Paige Fuhrmann, Alecia Falish & Coltyn Falish; Cory (Shelly) Falish: their children, Lane Falish, Hermione Falish, Riley Younker, Braedy Long, Cory Long, & Mya Bartz; Nikolas Falish, Shane (Anna) Falish, Sasha (Nicholas) Steudel, their children Cameron Steduel, Cooper Steduel, Kendal Steudel, & Carli Steudel. He is further survived by his brother-in-law Larry Franzke (Sharon Jansen), and many nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives.

Carl was preceded in death by his wife, Ila, his parents and siblings, Edward Petersen, Helen Petersen, Adeline Petersen, Elton (Mary Ada) Petersen, Ila’s sister Elona (Robert) Miller, half-sister Lois Samardich, and son-in-law Norman Falish.

Family and friends may gather on Monday, July 20, 2026, at Zion Church Forest Junction (N8893 Church Street Forest Junction WI 54110). Visitation will start at 1:30pm until the time of the Memorial Service, at 3:30pm. Burial will immediately follow, in Forest Home Cemetery.
