Bruce Cherney

Bruce M. Cherney passed away in his sleep, Saturday, July 20, 2024 at the age of 55.

Bruce was born to the late LeRoy and Joyce (Duckart) Cherney on August 19, 1968. He attended Denmark Schools and graduated in 1986. He then went on to get an Associate Degree in Marketing at NWTC, Green Bay, WI. He furthered his education with a Bachelor Degree in Business from University of Phoenix in Phoenix, AZ.

At the time of his death, he was working for Walgreen’s in De Pere and La Pari at Festival Foods in Green Bay. Bruce enjoyed his co-workers and always spoke highly of them. They weren’t just co-workers…they were his friends.

Bruce was a long-time member of St. James Church in Cooperstown, WI., where he was President of Council. He was active in church activities and fundraisers and enjoyed planning and attending those events.

Bruce always liked to help people and put others needs before his own. He was a positive person and very empathetic to others. He enjoyed talking about high-end cars and his experiences living in Arizona and California. His social nature put everyone at ease.

Bruce is survived by his older brother, Duane, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, maternal grandparents, paternal grandparents and his Godparents.

Services will be held at St. James Catholic Church in Cooperstown, WI. On Saturday, September 14, 2024. Visitation will be from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at the church. The funeral service to follow at 11:00 am with Father Brian Belongia officiating. Burial will follow at St. James Cemetery. His father, LeRoy Cherney, will be laid to rest at the same time.

If you can, please wear something blue to Bruce’s funeral as blue was his favorite color.
