Bonnie Jean Michiels, age 95 of De Père, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 4, 2026. She was born on October 14, 1930, in Green Bay to the late Arthur Lewis and Marie Genevieve (Edwards) Larcheid. She graduated from West Green Bay high school in 1948, and on February 3, 1951, she married Reuben F. Michiels at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in De Pere. He preceded her in death on December 3, 2000. Bonnie worked at Shopko in De Pere and retired with 25 years of service. She loved to play cards and games; they were often part of family gatherings. Bonnie also enjoyed volunteering for Christian Outreach, De Pere and St. Vincent De Paul, Green Bay.
She is survived by her children: Mary Michiels, Robert (Teri) Michiels, Linda (Tom) Lehrer and Jim (Mary) Michiels; grandchildren: Christy (Alex) McKinney, Jenna Savage, Melissa Michiels, Rick (Amy) Michiels, Robbie Michiels and Nicole (Blake) Vieux; numerous great grandchildren and sister in law, Carolyn (Don) Michiels.
Preceding Bonnie in death are her parents, husband, Reuben, her grandson, Mathew Michiels, her in laws, Peter and Mary (Peters) Michiels, her sister, Ellen (Bill) Ziehms, her brothers: Norman (Marjorie) Larscheid, Orville Larscheid, Terry Larscheid; Reub’s siblings: Melvin (Mary Rose), Norbert, Gerald, Delores (Louis) Vande Velden and Donald.
Family and friends may gather on Friday, August 14, 2026, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 4805 Sportsman Dr., De Pere beginning at 10:00am until 10:45, with the Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11:00am, Very Rev. Mike Ingold officiating. Entombment will take place at Allouez Chapel Mausoleum.
The family wishes to express their deep gratitude to the Emerald Bay Assisted Living Facility for making her last year so comfortable. They also want to extend their heartfelt thanks to the Unity Hospice team for their exceptional services.
