Bette Manders, age 99, of Allouez passed away on Sunday, November 16, 2025 at Rennes Health and Rehab Center in De Pere, Wisconsin.

Bette was born on January 2, 1926, in De Pere, Wisconsin to parents John and Elizabeth (nee Hurkman) Calaway. Bette was a 1943 graduate of Nicolet High School and then attended vocational school. She worked for Kress and Martell Collection Agency and later Metropolitan Life Insurance Company in Green Bay. On June 7, 1947, she married Norbert "Gabby" Manders at St. Boniface Catholic Church. After retiring from the Keglers Klub Bowling Lanes, they enjoyed many winters in Florida. They spent 69 happy years together before his passing in November 2016.

Bette enjoyed playing golf. She was a member of the Shorewood Country Club and later the Fox Valley Golf Club where she was a Club Champion. Bette enjoyed playing in the NEWGA Events for over 25 years. Bette was very proud of her three holes in one. Bette enjoyed playing all kinds of card games especially Euchre and Cribbage with family and friends and became a Bridge Life Master in 1994. Bette enjoyed volunteering at Church, and delivering Meals on Wheels with her husband, Gabby. Bette and Gabby were charter members of Resurrection Catholic Church in Allouez.

Bette is survived by her son Dan (Kathy); three grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren: Michelle (Phillip) Violi and their daughter Iris; Michael (Sarah) Manders and their son Aiden; John (Lisa) Manders and their daughter Molly and son Evan; Brother Dave (Mary) Calaway; and many dear nieces and nephews.

Bette was preceded in death by her parents; husband Gabby; foster brother John (Catherine) Schmid; Brothers John (Lorraine) Calaway Jr. and Dick Calaway; and Sisters Joan (Richard) Hogan; and Sally (Jack) Kellerman.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Entombment will be in Allouez Chapel Mausoleum.

Bette's family would like to extend a special thank you to Bette's brother Dave Calaway and nephew Bill Manders for their help, care and concern. The family would also like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Rennes Health and Rehab Center in De Pere for the wonderful care and to the staff at Bristol Hospice for their compassionate care and support.
