Berniece Germaine Fye
Berniece Fye, age 92, of De Pere passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Saturday, July 25, 2026.
Berniece was born to Joseph and Lorraine (Gussert) Hendricks. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Vern Fye; granddaughter, Stacy Ramirez; brothers, Ken Hendricks and Cyril Hendricks; sisters, Lucille Hendricks and Elaine Spreeman, as well as her parents.
Berniece was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She is survived by her children; Judy Fye, Al Fye (Cindy Heise), Sandy Bartel (Phil), and Kevin Fye (Jenny Roffers).
She was a proud grandmother to Eric Baldwin (Angela Schampers), Chad Keely (fiancé Becca Pables), Elyisha Fye, Jesse Heise, Daniel Bartel (Alanna Gladney), Amy Bartel, Tim Bartel (Grace Balza), Megan Fye and Hannah Fye.
Berniece was also blessed with many great-grandchildren; Lucas, Nevyn, Max, Elaina, Ella, Brianna, Weston, Chezni and Loretta. She was also blessed with great-great-grandchildren Carter and Summer.
Berniece is further survived by her brother, Roger Hendricks (Elaine Vande Voort); and sisters-in-law, Shirley Hendricks and Mary Timm.
Berniece worked in food service for many years at Hardees and Humana. Upon retirement, she volunteered her time helping with St. Mary’s School cafeteria lunch program.
Family was always the center of Berniece’s life. She loved reading, working puzzles, casino trips and vacations with family. One of her greatest joys was her cottage on Crooked Lake, a special place for her family for over 50 years. She loved the simple pleasures in life – watching Hallmark movies (recently, Christmas in July movies), watching game shows, sharing lunches, laughter and an occasional beer with her long-time friends Jean and Dorothy. She was an avid Green Bay Packers fan – enjoying a shot of tequila with her daughters and son-in-law Phil, when the Packers scored a touchdown. Weekend trips to the cottage weren’t complete unless she shared a shot of tequila with Chad and Becca. Berniece never turned down cookies, pie, or any other baked goods from anyone who brought them to her.
She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
A special thank you to Unity Hospice, especially nurse Melissa and CNAs Laura and Nancy.
