Bernice M. Klister

Bernice M. Klister, age 95, passed away peacefully at her home in Wrightstown on August 23, 2024. She was born on October 6, 1928 to Fred and Mary (Hose) Wierschke in Wrightstown. On April 26, 1952, she married Vincent Klister.

She was an avid card player and especially loved playing sheephead and rummy. She was quick to sew patches on her children’s clothing when they needed fixing. She was a true farmer’s wife and was very devoted to her faith and family. She was an excellent cook and took pride in providing for her family. 

Bernice is survived by her children: Frank (Terri) Klister, Gerald (Wanda) Klister, Mary (Alfred) Johnson, Kristine (Terry) Liebergen, Dennis (Kim) Klister, Eugene (Shelly) Klister, and Steve “Rhythm” Klister; grandchildren: Carrie, Sara, Faye, Jill, Ben, Lynn, Ross, Corrine, Megan, Cassandra, Blake, and Carson; 4 great-grandchildren; and goddaughter Betty Schmidt.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Vincent; and brothers Don and Roland Wierschke.

Family and friends may gather beginning at 9 am on Saturday, August 31, 2024 at St. John Lutheran Church, 206 Plum Rd, Wrightstown. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 am with Pastor John Raasch officiating. Bernice will be laid to rest at Appleton Highland Memorial Park.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Unity Hospice for their compassionate care of Bernice. 

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Bernice’s name.
