Dorothy (Burr) Fabry, age 94, and Bernard “Bernie” Fabry, age 96, of De Pere, passed away peacefully within 8 hours of each other, both by natural causes, on Tuesday, January 13, 2026. They were married for more than 72 years and shared a deep love for family, friends, and travel.
Survivors include their children, Jan (Jerry) Pavlik, Mike Fabry, and Dan (Lori) Fabry; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and Dorothy’s sister, Nancy (Ralph) Miller. Dorothy was preceded in death by her sisters Dora Jean (Lester) Brauer and Suzanne Sievers and brother David Burr.
Dorothy was the daughter of the late Lewellyn and Marion (Graf) Burr. She was born on August 20, 1931, in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin, and graduated from Sturgeon Bay High School with the Class of 1949. Dorothy devoted herself to being a stay-at-home mother to her three children until they reached school age, after which she worked for the Door County Chamber of Commerce for 25 years. She especially enjoyed gathering with family and friends.
Bernie was the son of the late Henry and Emma (Vandermissen) Fabry. He was born on December 28, 1929, and graduated from Brussels High School with the Class of 1948. Bernie served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from 1953 to 1955. He worked in construction until his retirement and enjoyed fishing, particularly on Lake Michigan, as well as tending to his garden.
Dorothy and Bernie were married on August 26, 1953, at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Sturgeon Bay. Together, they enjoyed traveling throughout the country and building a life centered on family.
Dorothy and Bernie’s family would like to thank Woodside Assisted Living, Rennes Health & Rehab Center, and Aurora Hospital for the kindness and care that they provided Dorothy and Bernie.
