On Saturday, November 12, with his loving wife of 30 years at his side, Barry found peace after a year-and-a-half battling cancer.
Barry Willard Ehnerd, age 52, was born on April 14, 1970 to Virginia (Kussow) and Glenn “Red” Ehnerd. Barry was a 1988 graduate of Wrightstown High School. In November of 1988, he enlisted into the United States Navy. While stationed in Newport News, Virginia, Barry met the absolute love of his life Kris VandenBrink. Barry and Kris married on June 1, 1992. The two travelled from location to location for Barry’s 20 years of service, raising their family and making life-long friends along the way. After his retirement from the Navy as Chief Petty Officer, Barry stayed in Port Orchard, Washington, while working for the government at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center in Keyport, Washington for 8 years. He decided it was time to pack up and move his family home to Wisconsin. They settled into their dream home, and they did what Barry liked best; spending time with family, and hosting some very impressive 4th of July celebrations. When he wasn’t working around home, Barry spent 3 years working at the Ariens Company in Brillion. Barry would help anyone who asked, and he made friends wherever he went. He loved watching sports, especially anything Wisconsin. But Barry’s true treasure was his family, especially his grandson Karson, as well as fishing in his pond, golfing and taking care of the large garden and many apple trees.
Barry is survived by his wife of 30 years, Kris; their children: Jeremy Ehnerd, Alissa (special friend Lexus) Ehnerd; grandson Karson, Anthony (fiancé Abbie) Ehnerd; his mother Virginia (Kussow) Ehnerd; 4 brothers: Bill (Chris) Ehnerd and their children: Josh (Gena) Ehnerd, Jeanette (Jeremy) Roskom, Erin (fiancé Jen) Ehnerd; Brian (Linda) Ehnerd and children: Caitlynn (Brandon) Knull, Briana Keahiolalo, Evan Keahiolalo; Brad (Lori) Ehnerd and children: Tanner Ehnerd and Marissa Ehnerd, as well as Josh (Jen) Janhke and Jaki Janhke; Brady (Jennifer) Ehnerd and children: Brittany Ehnerd and Emily, Sophia and Gabriella Ehnerd; 4 sisters: Barbara (the late Jerry) Buss and children: Kizzy Delgado-Saldana, Katie Arvizu-Fuentes, Cassandra (Omar) Hernandez; Brenda Morrison and children: Tonya Anguiano-Ehnerd, Dustin (Veronica) Morrison, Jake Morrison, Zachary Morrison; Bonnie (Tom) Crossman and children: Timothy Crossman, Chloe Crossman; Bobbi Sue (Eric) Burbey and daughter Samantha (Adam) Remeester.
