Barbara “Bobbie” Ann (Harder) Jensen passed away peacefully at Woodside Senior Community in Green Bay, Wisconsin with her husband Paul Jensen by her side, on December 31, 2025, at the age of 90.

Born on April 22,1935, in Hood River, Oregon, to Lloyd and Bonnie (Weinheimer) Harder, Bobbie grew up in several places, including Odell, Oregon on her grandparents’ farm, Stevenson, Oregon and Pasco, Washington.

With a growing faith in Christ, Bobbie joined Pasco First Methodist Church in 1948. She graduated from Pasco High School as valedictorian of a class of 99 in 1953, the last class to graduate from Pasco’s old high school. Bobbie then attended Whitworth College (University) in Spokane, Washington, where she graduated with a B.A. in Education in 1957.

While at Whitworth, Bobbie met Paul, the love of her life, when Paul was looking for a piano accompanist for vocal lessons. They were married on August 11,1956. While Paul was attending seminary in San Anselmo, California, Bobbie worked at the San Raphael Public Library. After graduating from seminary, Paul became a Presbyterian minister, and the two of them were called to lead four congregations in the cities of Spokane, Mountlake Terrace, Prosser and Mount Vernon, all in Washington state.

They raised two daughters, Julie and Gail. Bobbie lovingly supported their many activities growing up and enjoyed the blessings of a close-knit family.

Bobbie taught remedial reading for 17 years in the private and public school setting in Mount Vernon. She also taught adults principles of home economics through the Washington State Cooperative Extension Service.

Bobbie volunteered in many capacities in the churches Paul served, particularly in Christian Education as administrator, teacher, and librarian. She was involved in church and civic choirs for many years. She loved playing the piano, acting in dramas, and interpreting God’s Word through liturgical arts. Bobbie was a proud 55-year member of P.E.O., Chapter GB.

The two of them travelled extensively, exploring the history and beauty of the USA and the world. They had a thirst for learning and seeing new places, whether it was a tiny village in Iceland, or the view from the Empire State Building!

Bobbie is survived by her husband of 69 years, Paul; daughters Julie Mackey (Kevin) and Gail Nelson (Jonathan), sister Dixie Hutson, sister-in-law Chris Jensen, sister-in-law Carol Jensen. She is also survived by grandchildren Laura Mackey (Kyle Jaeger), Stefan Nelson (Erin Aadland), and Ian Mackey, and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her father Lloyd Harder, mother Bonnie (Harder) Hart, Bonnie’s husband Ray Hart, sister Gwendolyn Harder, brother-in-law Thomas Hutson, cousin Kay Lamb (Tom); brother-in-law and sister-in-law Hans and Mary Jensen, and sister-in-law and brother-in-law Anna and Lyle Kendall.
