Barbara Ann Gigot, loving wife and mother, passed away peacefully on the morning of June 15, 2021. The daughter of the late Roman Berceau, Sr. and Elizabeth Pinchard, Barbara was born May 5, 1930, in Green Bay and devoted her life to her family, her Catholic faith, and the Green Bay community.
Barbara attended grade school at SS Peter and Paul and high school at St. Joseph’s Academy. She attended vocational school for bookkeeping and held various office positions until she became a full-time homemaker. Barbara married Harris James Gigot on April 24, 1954 in Green Bay and he preceded her in death in 1994.
As a young woman, she was a diver and tennis player. Barbara especially loved to dance. She was a member of the square dance club, and she and Harris could do a mean turn on the dance floor. She enjoyed old movies, musicals, and counted cross-stitching. She was also an avid reader and belonged to many book clubs.
Barbara was an active member of Resurrection Catholic parish, singing in the church choir and as a member of the women’s club. She volunteered as a girl scout leader, as well as working in food pantries, homeless shelters and countless charity fundraisers. She also tended to the elderly across Green Bay.
Barbara’s most important work was her family. She is survived by her six children: Paul Gigot (Rebecca Randall) of New York, N.Y., Mark (Kathryn) Gigot of De Pere, WI, Julie (Jim) Enright of De Pere, WI, Chris (Christine) Gigot of Pewaukee, WI, Tim (Teri) Gigot of Long Grove, Ill., and Andrea (David) Darling of Green Bay, WI; grandchildren Jami (Nicolas) Worth, Ryan (Mariah) Soletski, Tera Gigot, Tyler Gigot, Caitlin Enright, Kylie Enright, Ryan (Lea) Jacques, Jacquelyn (Nathan) Roy, Ben Gigot, Luke Gigot, Dominic Gigot, Matthew Gigot, Nicholas Gigot, Brooke Gigot and Jake Darling; and great-grandchildren Mae, Sebastian, Liam, Lucia, Fiona, Sophia and Noah. Barbara is also survived by her sister Judy Oettinger; and sisters-in-law Mary Berceau, Judith Barth and Joan Gigot.
She was preceded in death by husband, Harris, as well as brothers Paul Berceau, Roman (Rosemary) Berceau and Robert “Bob” (Marge) Berceau; brother-in-law Mickey Oettinger, and grandchild Blake Elise Darling.
