Arleen E. (Ullmer) Mellinger

Arleen (Ullmer) Mellinger, 94, Appleton, passed away on Monday January 20, 2014. The daughter of the late Leo and Erma (Delahaut) Ullmer was born September 18, 1919, in Allouez, WI. Arleen served her country during WWII as a member of the United States Marines. Arleen lived in the Appleton-DePere area for the past 17 years, prior to that she and her late husband Albert raised their children in the Gary, IN area where she was a homemaker and Albert worked for US Steel. She loved to read, cook and knit along with spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She especially enjoyed discussing politics with her brothers. Survivors include her daughters Marla (Pete) Nelson, Appleton; Marcia Mellinger, Riverton, KS and her son Mark (Millicent) Mellinger, Bend, OR; sisters-in-law Jean (the late Clayton) Ullmer, Green Bay and Jackie (the late Richard) Ullmer, DePere, her grandchildren Chris (Robin) Nelson, Menasha, WI; Leighton (Eva) Hall, Bella Vista, AR; Stephanie (Bryan) Dickie, Riverton, KS; Carliegh Hall, Riverton, KS. Her great-grandchildren Izayah, Jaydyn, Korbyn, Logan and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by his loving parents; her husband Albert, her brothers, Armond, Clayton, Quenten (Angie), Richard, Gordon, who died in WWII and Roger.
