Anthony “Tony” James Spencer, age 36, of Green Bay, entered eternal life on September 10, 2021 at his home. The son of Lee Spencer and Theresa (Bonk Spencer) McKenna was born March 26, 1985 in Green Bay. After graduating from Southwest High School, Tony attended UW-Stout. He attained his second-degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do and enjoyed freelance writing in addition to gardening and cooking. Those who know Tony will best remember him for his gentle and empathetic soul. He greeted everyone with a smile and was quick to engage in conversation. Tony was loyal and true to friends and family even when life’s circumstances kept them separated.
He will be missed by his father Lee (Bonnie) Spencer; mother Theresa (Dan) McKenna; brother BJ (Amber) LeRoy; sister Shelly (Jeff) Schott, as well as nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents: William and Virginia Spencer and Walter and Angela Bonk.
Family and friends may visit at Cotter Funeral Home, 860 N Webster Ave, De Pere, on Thursday, September 16, from 4-7pm. The visitation will conclude with a rosary service at 7:00pm. Visitation will then continue on Friday, at Resurrection Catholic Church, 333 Hilltop Drive, Allouez, from 9:30am until 10:30am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 11:00 am with Fr. Luke Ferris. The funeral mass will also be livestreamed at gbres.org/live and can be later viewed at the same website.
Please note that at the request of Tony’s family, masks are recommended in the funeral home and church.
