De Pere

Anne L. Dropp, age 91, died peacefully on March 25, 2026. Anne was born in Marinette, WI on March 26, 1934 to the late Edward W. Dropp and Edna (Holt) Dropp.

Anne grew up in Middle Inlet, WI where she worked in her family’s country store. She was active in 4-H and in 1951 graduated as valedictorian of her class at Wausaukee High School. In 1955 Anne received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison where she majored in Home Economics Education. So began Anne’s 70+ year love of public education and UW-Madison. She taught at Oconomowoc High School for 12 years before returning to UW-Madison to complete her Master’s degree. After completing her degree, Anne came to Green Bay to work with the UW-Extension. She soon realized that she missed “her teenagers” and took a teaching position at Preble High School. Beloved at Preble High School, “Miss Dropp” taught Home Economics, coached Cheerleading, and helped organize/lead the long-running Senior Class Christmas Party for Northeastern Wisconsin children with special needs. Anne retired from teaching in 1990 after 20 years at Preble.

Anne had many skills and interests. She was happiest in her kitchen and shared many a recipe. Anne was also an avid reader and especially enjoyed a good mystery. She loved to travel and enjoyed visiting Mexico, Canada (especially Nova Scotia), Europe, and most states in the United States. Theatre performances thrilled Anne – both the London stage and the Ontario Shakespeare/Shaw festivals were favorites. Summers were filled with teaching summer school and leading youth camps. In retirement, Anne enjoyed volunteering at De Pere Christian Outreach Thrift Shop.

Anne was a lifelong member of the Presbyterian church and was active in church leadership at the local and regional level. She was an ordained Deacon at University Presbyterian Church in Madison and was a ruling Elder at First United Presbyterian Church in De Pere.

Anne is survived by her dear niece Susan (Joe) Nuzzolo, and great nephews, Christopher and Jeremy Nuzzolo, New Jersey; her godson, Ethan Arnold, Minneapolis; her chosen extended family, Sandie (Rick) Brundin, Stanfield, North Carolina, Steve (Lisa K.) Mayer, Luxemburg, Wisconsin, and their children/grandchildren; close friends Dawn and Bill Picard, and Mark Sprague; as well as cousins and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, infant sister (Ruth), and sister Jane Kaiko.

A celebration of Anne’s life will be held on the early afternoon of Saturday, June 27, 2026 at First United Presbyterian Church, 605 N. Webster, De Pere, WI. Details of the service will be shared on the Cotter Funeral Home website and will be published in the Green Bay Press Gazette.
