Amy Crane Johnson, age 66 of Green Bay, passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, May 18, 2021. Born March 24, 1955 in Green Bay to the late Edward and Lucille (Huben) Crane, she married Bruce Johnson on May 2, 1975, at St. Jude Church. Known as a “hockey mom and grandma” for her son and grandson, she was also involved in many arts and writing groups and will be deeply missed by her family and many friends.
Amy’s love of reading from a very early age led her to a BA in English Literature, emphasis in Creative Writing. Author of several children’s books, poetry, and short stories, she also wrote award-winning video and radio scripts. An editor for Raventree Press, she also freelanced in advertising for corporate and professional sports teams.
She is survived by her husband, of 46 years, Bruce; children Paul (partner Jennifer) Johnson and Elizabeth “Betsy” Johnson, grandchildren; Nathanael “Nate” Johnson.
Family and friends may gather from 9:30 to 11:00am on Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at Cotter Funeral Home, 860 N Webster Ave, DePere, a service will follow at 11:00am.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Sheila VanderLoop and Unity Hospice, the Cancer Team at Bellin, and friend Cindy Smith Katz for all of the wonderful care and compassion shown to Amy.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Brown County Library or Literacy Services of Green Bay.
