Adam Alois Lehmann, Jr was born on February 27, 1954, at OFFUTT Air Force base in Omaha, Nebraska to Adam Sr and Elizabeth Lehmann. He joined the Air Force in 1971, served for two years and was honorably discharged in 1973. After the service he joined the ranks of the family business as a third-generation plumber with Lehmann Plumbing in Milwaukee.
In 1982, Adam moved to the Los Angeles area and obtained his HVAC and Plumbing Contracting license. Adam bought a sailboat and loved to take it out for short trips on the ocean. He repaired bilge pumps and performed other necessary plumbing on boats as a side job at Marina Del Rey.
In 2017, he decided to move back to Wisconsin to be near family. He bought a home in New London and in 2020 he met Dixie Hill. Because of the COVID lockdown, their relationship became very close in a short time. Before long Dixie was a fixture in New London, where the two spent time traveling through Wisconsin. He loved Door County and the Dells. They traveled to Missouri to visit Dixie’s son Rob. On the way back they hit the St. Louis Zoo and different tourist spots in Chicago. Adam loved to shop and wherever they went they enjoyed thrifting.
Adam was quickly absorbed into Dixie's family where he learned about the importance of connection. Dixie's dad, Ron, and Adam became very close and when they were together they both enjoyed discourse over several subjects which sometimes could get heated. But they always came out of their spats closer than ever before. He adored Dixie's mother, Sonja, and he would do anything for her. They both loved him.
Adam was very vocal about his love for Dixie, telling anyone who'd listen she was the love of his life. Many have commented that he was happy, well taken care of and very well fed.
Adam passed on March 12 at the age of 72, with Dixie holding his hand.
Adam is survived by siblings, Sharon Lake, Kimberly Gromowski, Mark Lehmann and nephew Joshua Gromowski. He is also survived by his partner Dixie Hill, Dixie's sons Rob Bukowski (Sandy) and Jeremy Bunn (Julie) and Grandson Arden Bunn. Also, Dixie's parents Ron and Sonja Pigeon who had a truly special relationship with Adam. He was preceded in death by his parents.
If all you take with you is love - Adam left us a very wealthy man.
And all God's children say? ~ Amen
