Zdzislawa Teresa (Miros) Biernat

Zdzislawa “Zdzisia” Teresa Miros-Biernat, age 77, of Allouez and Poland, passed away Thursday, June 16, 2016. The daughter of Zofia and Stanislaw Miros was born in Poland on September 27, 1938. She attended Economical Technical College and became an accountant, and was dreaming of becoming a lawyer when she met her future husband and gave up her dreams to marry him. She married Jan Biernat in April of 1960 in Warsaw Poland. Zdzisia worked as an accountant in Warsaw until 1991. She was a member of the Solidarity Movement in Poland, and completed many pilgrimages to sacred places. Zdzisia was a great cook and loved experimenting with new recipes. She also enjoyed knitting, traveling to Canada, Europe, Central America, and many places in North America and was the biggest fan of her grandchildren while playing baseball and football. Zdzisia loved people, and most of all was devoted to her children and grandchildren. Survivors include her husband, Jan (residing in Poland), children Bozena of Allouez and Marek of Poland; grandchildren: Dominick, Max, Alex and Magda, sisters: Barbara, Krystyna, Henia and Teresa. Family and friends may visit at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 130 St. Matthew St, Allouez, on Saturday, June 25, from 10:00am until 11:45am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 noon with Fr. Bob Kabat officiating. Cotter Funeral Home and Crematory is assisting the family.
