William C Rentmeester

July 8, 1933 — February 16, 2024

William (Bill) Rentmeester’s wish to join his beloved wife, Jean, in heaven was granted on February 16, 2024. He was born on July 8, 1933, in Green Bay to Clarence and Eleanor (Tasquin) Rentmeester. Bill attended St. Peter and Paul Grade School and graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1951. He proudly served in the US Army in Korea from 1953 to 1955. After returning home, he married Jean Vande Walle on June 2, 1956, at St. Mary Catholic Church in De Pere. Together they raised six children. For over 40 years he worked at American Can/James River paper mill, retiring in 1995. Bill also did water meter readings and painted houses. He enjoyed fishing with his brother-in-law, Dick and camping with his family. Bill was an active member of St. Mary Catholic Parish, helping with ushering, lawn mowing, preparing booyah and he even assisted in building the priest’s deck.

Bill is survived by his children, Tim (Maggie), Amy (George) Karioris, Meg Deem, Dave (Dawn), Rob, and Steve (Tammy); his grandchildren, Bill and Patrick Rentmeester, Chelsea Biel, Frank and Leah Karioris, James, Sarah Osmundson, Mya, Will, Sam, Eleanor Rentmeester and Kory Hooper; great grandchildren Tate and Lila Rentmeester, Luka, Remy and Archie Biel.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean; parents; sisters Patricia Martell and Marlene De Groot; son-in-law Chuck Deem; many brothers and sisters-in-law.

We thank Dad’s cousin, Cletus Delvaux, for his friendship over the many years. The highlight of his week was visiting with friends at the Green Bay Area Retired Men’s Club.

You will be dearly missed, Dad, but we will always remember your love of mom and us, your love of God and your great work ethic.
