William J.”Bill” Maynard, Jr., 75, De Pere, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at his home. He was born February 19, 1936 in Iron Mountain, MI, son of the late William J. Sr. and Lucy Charlotte (Lusardi) Maynard. He graduated Kingsford High School, Kingsford, MI, in 1954, and served his country in the United States Air Force (Postal Division) from 1954 to 1958, stationed in Japan and Korea. William’s career started with Cummins Great Lakes and he worked his way up from Parts Clerk to President, retiring in 2002. Not one to be idle, he later began a second career with Masterfleet, in trailer sales, where he was currently employed. During his lifetime, William was a member of the American Martyrs, Jaycees, Elk’s, Moose Lodge, Wisconsin Motor Carriers, Logging Congress, Ducks Unlimited, and was a lifetime member of the Green Bay Packer Hall of Fame. He enjoyed Country Music, golf, fishing, photography, was an avid Packer fan and Detroit Tiger fan, and enjoyed playing guitar and singing. He will be deeply missed by his children: Rose (Mike) Hogan and their children: Lauren, Ben, and Michaela; Kathy (Chuck) Steinmetz and their children: Austin, Jenna, and Nicole; Laura (Scott) Marvil and their children: Ethan, Noah, and Emma; and Brad (special friend- Ame) Maynard; mother of their children, Agnes Maynard; brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Lucia Maynard; sister-in-law, Karen (Jerry) Nardi; close friend, Pat Hulce; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Butch and Bev Pfeiffer, and Ruth Ricchezza; and aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. In addition to his parents, William was also preceded in death by his brother, Norman. Friends may call Sunday, February 27, 2011 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Cotter Funeral Home, 860 N. Webster Ave., De Pere, where there will be a Parish Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of Mass at Resurrection Catholic Church, 333 Hilltop Drive, Allouez. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Monday at church, with Bishop Robert Morneau officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, De Pere.
