Viola A. “Vi” Kraynek, 86, Stangelville, passed away Sunday, January 2, 2011 at Kewaunee Care Center. She was born May 10, 1924, daughter to the late Frank and Helen (Wentland) Sekora. Vi graduated from Denmark High School, and married Edward Kraynek in September of 1949 in Denmark. For 21 years, Vi was a caretaker/housekeeper for many families in the Green Bay area. She was a devout member of St. Therese Parish-St. Lawrence site in Stangelville, where she was custodian for 21 years and a member of the funeral committee. Vi was a member of the Altar Rosary Society at church, Catholic Order of Foresters and the VFW Post 6705 Auxiliary Member. She will be deeply missed by her loving husband of 61 years, Edward; four children: Gregory (Margaret) Kraynek, Manitowoc, Mary (Ted) Pavelko, New Berlin, Paul Kraynek, Two Rivers, and Mike Kraynek, Stangelville; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Vi was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Ted and Frank Sekora; and a sister, Evelyn Moldenhaur. Friends may call Wednesday, January 5, 2011 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Knutson-Cotter Funeral Home, 536 Cty R, Denmark, where there will be a Parish Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of Mass at St. Therese Parish-St. Lawrence site, Stangelville. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Thursday at church, with Fr. Dennis Drury officiating. Online condolences may be expressed at www.cotterfuneralhome.com.
