Vincent ""Vince"" Lasee

Vincent “Vince” Lasee, age 91, of De Pere, passed away peacefully Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at a local hospital with his family by his side. The son of the late John B. and Louise (Verheyen) Lasee was born May 22, 1922 in De Pere. During his youth, Vince worked on the family farm before and after school located south of the city of De Pere. This is where he learned to drive truck at an early age. Vince graduated from East DePere High School. He then attended Badger Business College before entering the Service. A WWII Veteran, Vince served his country in the U.S. Army. He married Ruth Chase on June 19, 1954 at St. Willebrord’s Parish in Green Bay. Together, they celebrated nearly 59 years of marriage, five children and three grandchildren, who brought him great joy. Vince drove a semi truck for Osen Milling, a local farm feed and supply company, for almost 30 years until he was forced into an early retirement. In his later years he drove for Bay Verte Machine Co, and photos for Osco Drug. Vince also served as a bouncer for the Brown County Sheriff Dept.Vince had a devotion to his faith and the church, from being an Altar Boy in his early years, to an usher in the later years. He loved the Packers, especially going to games (he was present at the Ice Bowl), bowling, puzzles, and was a news and sports buff with a fantastic memory Survivors include his children: Paul Lasee, Mike Lasee, Peggy (Dave) Peters, and Terry Haack; grandchildren: Greg Peters, Katherine and Christine Lasee; brothers and sisters: Fran Lasee, Jobie (Rose) Lasee, Joan Reis, and a sister-in-law: Eleanor Lasee, Marge Lasee and Dorothy Haack. Vince was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth, daughter Marilyn, daughter-in-law Laurie, several brothers and sisters, as well as their spouses. Family and friends may visit at Cotter Funeral Home, 860 N Webster Ave, De Pere, on Friday, January 24, from 4-8pm. A parish prayer service will be held at 7pm Fri¬day evening. Visitation will continue on Satur¬day at St. Mary Catholic Church, 4805 Sports¬man Dr., Ledgeview from 10:00-10:45am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am Saturday with the Rev. Richard Getchel officiat¬ing. Full military honors will follow the Mass. Burial in Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery, De Pere. Online condolences at www.cotterfuneral¬home.com. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the wonderful staff at the Renaissance Assisted Living and Rennes Health Care Center, especially Ashley, for the exceptional care and concern shown to Vince and his family.
