Victor M. Berger, 90, Denmark, passed away Saturday, November 12, 2011, at Harmony of Denmark. He was born February 24, 1921 in Maribel, son of the late Joseph and Anna (Spurney) Berger. He married Dolores Wanek on January 2, 1947, and farmed in the Rosecrans area until 1977, then moving to Denmark. He worked at Arien’s until his retirement. Victor enjoyed playing cards, especially Sheephead and dice (10,000). He also enjoyed flowers and his vegetable garden, and volunteering for Meals on Wheels, Bornemann Home, and All Saints Church. He will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 64 years, Dolores; two children, Mary (Chuck) Schleis; and Jerry (Nancy) Berger; five grandchildren: Nicki (Dan) Styka, Andy (Kristin) Schleis, Jill (Patrick) Dumas, Bridgitte (Gary) Mayerhofer, and Todd (Kristi) Berger; seven great-grandchildren; and one sister, Sister Karen Anne. He was preceded in death by his parents and seven siblings. Family and friends may call Monday, November 14, 2011 (TODAY) from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of Mass at All Saints Catholic Church, Denmark. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. today at church, with Fr. Ron Colombo officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
