Vernon Nathan Plouff

Vernon Nathan Plouff, 96, De Pere, passed away peacefully, Sunday, June 21st, 2015, at a local nursing home. He was born on June 6th, 1919 to the late Victor and Rose (Speener) Plouff. On June 15, 1940, he married Margaret (Peg) Leiterman at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. The couple enjoyed more than 56 years together. Margaret preceded him in death in 1997. Vernon was a lifelong member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. He was also a member of the De Pere Sportsmen’s Club. Along with being an avid biker, he also enjoyed dancing and fishing. Vernon was a truck driver all his life, retiring from Schneider Transport. Survivors include his four children: Elizabeth Hansen, James (Bonnie) Plouff, John (Linda) Plouff, Suzanne Piette; grandchildren: Daniel (Lisa) Hansen, Michael and Mary Ellen Hansen, James P. Plouff, Jackie Marie (David) Ley, Scott Plouff, Blake (Bonnie) Plouff, Jeffery James (Heidi) Piette, Michele (William) Micksch, Steven (Tricia) Piette, Craig Plouff, Gina (Eric) Kocha, Michelle (Scott) Vervoren-Unson; special friend, Lauretta McKee; many great-grandchildren; 3 sisters: Catherine Unrath, Patricia (John) Collen, and Rosemary (Tom) Quevillion; brother, Donald (Birdie) Plouff; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by 4 brothers: Victor, Val, David, and Bernard Plouff; 4 sisters: Frances, Thelma, Caroline, and Edith; and a daughter-in-law, Patricia Plouff. Family and friends may visit St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 220 S. Michigan St., De Pere, on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 from 10:30 a.m. until the hour of Mass at 12:00 p.m., with Fr.
