Vernon E. Teresin

May 20, 1935 — April 10, 2023

Vernon E. Teresin, 87, passed away on Monday, April 10, 2023, moving on in spirit after a long and wonderful life. Vern was born May 20, 1935 in Milwaukee, WI, to Lillian (Stodola) and Edward Teresinski. He is survived by his loving wife, Marjorie (Karl). Next month they would have celebrated 39 years of marriage.


The greatest gifts in his life included his family and children. From his first marriage to his late wife Barbara Schleis, he had 3 beautiful daughters; Lisa (Todd) Frisinger, Meg (Dan) Haney, Susan (Rick) Turriff. When he married Marjorie, he gained another wonderful daughter, Deb (Bill) Moore. His grandchildren include; Nic (Christina) Frisinger, Abbey (Jake) Roes, Sierra (Chaz) Heidemann, Alayna Knier, Brendan (Lauren) Haney, Devan Haney, Connor (Lexie) Haney, Kiernan Haney, Lauren (Adam) Bauer, Ryan Turriff, Morgan Turriff, Maddie Moore, Max Moore. Great grandchildren; Vienna, Deegan, Braelyn, Alaina, Brinley, and Lillian.


Vern attended grade school in Milwaukee, Coleman High School and graduated from St. Norbert College in 1960. While in High School Vern excelled at basketball, baseball and football and held the nickname, Tarzan. He served in the Korean conflict and often shared his memories of his time in Japan as a Supplies Officer and his recruitment. He also played the position of catcher on the Army baseball team.


Vern was a career salesman, loved the outdoors fishing, hunting, gardening and always there to assist his mother and father on their farm. He enjoyed traveling the U.S. and Europe with his dancing partner, Marjorie, swinging to polka and big band music. He was an avid bowler and was active in VFW Post 9409 and was a proud member of the Moose Lodge.


He is survived by three sisters, four brothers, their children and lifelong friends.


Family and friends will be received at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 2597 Glendale Ave, Howard (Green Bay) (entrance across from the BP gas station) on Thursday, April 20th from 10:00am - 11:45pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00pm with Fr. Jim Lucas officiating. A memorial fund has been established in Dad’s memory. Cotter Funeral and Cremation Care is assisting the family with arrangements.


The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the Angels at Rennes Health Center in De Pere.
