Vernal May (Magley) Nemetz

Vernal (Jiggs) Magley Nemetz, age 85, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 10, 2016, with her family at her side. She was born on October 2, 1930, to the late George and Josephine (Legois) Magley. She was born and raised on a farm in Humboldt, Wisconsin. Vernal, a mother of seven children, extended her love of working the land by raising her family on a dairy farm. In addition to farming, she operated a milk route in the 1960’s. She was an avid reader and story teller. She was known for her love of dancing, camping and being “at the lake”. She loved her family and was happiest when they were all together. She married Daniel Nemetz at St. Mary’s Church in Humboldt, WI, in 1950. Vernal is survived by four daughters, Diane (Steve) Baugnet, Townsend, Christine (Gary) Reese, Waukesha, Nancy (Gerard) Duginske, Denmark and Lori (Kenneth) Hoyt, Whitewater; thirteen grandchildren, James Massey, Charles Massey, Joseph Nemetz, Nicole Kreger, Anthony Nemetz and Stephen Nemetz, Todd (Glenda) and Jason (Amanda) Baugnet, Benjamin and Samuel Reese, Sarah Duginske, James Nemetz and Jonah Hoyt; 15 great-grandchildren, one sister, Eleanor (Lloyd) Jacobs, sister-in-law, Ruth Magley and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Vernal was preceded in death by three sons, Kenneth, Gary and James Nemetz, parents, father and mother in-law, Frank and Irene Nemetz, daughter-in-law Stephanie Nemetz, two brothers Kenneth and Richard (Dick) Magley, her sister Joyce Heyrman (Francis), and grandson Phillip Duginske. Family and friends may visit at Knutson-Cotter Funeral Home, 536 County Rd R, Denmark, on Thursday, April 14, 2016, from 1:00-4:00 p.m. The Memorial Service for Vernal will be held at 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Inurnment will be held at a later date. A memorial fund will be established.
