Verna Salzsieder

Verna E. Salzsieder, age 91, Denmark, passed away January 21, 2022. The daughter of the late William and Erna (Jerovetz) Schultz was born October 24, 1930. She married LeRoy Salzsieder on October 11, 1950, and together they shared 63 years of marriage before his passing.

Survivors include her children: David (Marie), Dale (special friend Lori Hlinak), Lloyd, Ken, Bonnie (Dave) DeTemple; grandchildren: Vicky (Nathan) VandenBranden and their children Maks and Makenna, Stacy (Mick) Verdonck and Scott Salzsieder, James DeTemple; sister-in-law Nathalie Salzsieder; nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

In addition to her husband, LeRoy, she was preceded in death by her siblings: Harold (Jeanette) Schultz and Lester (Vi) Schultz; LeRoy’s siblings: Elmer (Rita), Gloria (Art) Kuchenbecker, Lester, Ornie (Dorothy), Cora (Otto Sr.) Mueller, Elda (Eddie) Bauman, Clarence, Alfred, Edgar, Elroy and an infant.

Due to Covid concerns a private family funeral was held.

Our family would like to extend a deep and heartfelt thank you to the incredible caregivers and staff of Scandinavian Assisted Living in Demark and Odd Fellow Home. You truly made it a special place for Mom, and we love you for loving her. We will be forever grateful!
