Vernon Francis Meulemans
Age 84 of Wrightstown, passed away peacefully on July 2, 2022.

Vern took great pride in his grandchildren. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, bowling, and playing cards. He worked on the St. Paul Parish Catholic Cemetery for over 30 years, volunteered as an usher in church, and was an honorary lifetime member of the Reedsville Sportsmen Club.

Vern will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 62 years, Monica; children, Debbie (Dale) Hietpas, Dan (Stacey) Meulemans, Lynn (Chad) Aplin, Jim (Julie) Meulemans, Pat (Michele) Meulemans, Pam (Joe) Ray, Judy (Greg) Brochtrup, Chris (Brian) Goldschmidt, and Tom (Shelly) Meulemans; grandchildren, Jason (Shelli) Fox, Stephanie (Ed) Rader, Hannah Hietpas, Logan (Brieanna) Hietpas, Jessica (Luke) Grahek, Andréa (special friend, Chad Baeten) Meulemans, Matt (Chelsey) Grube, Mitchell (Brooke) Aplin, Jordan Aplin, Lea (Eric) Lackey, Paige (Jake) Herbst, Matthew (Breanna) Meulemans, Tiffany Kersten, Tim (Katie) Meulemans, Justin Meulemans, Tyler Meulemans, Sara (Joe) Teigen, Michael (Miranda) Ray, Rachael Brochtrup, Lauren Brochtrup, Megan Goldschmidt, and Aaron Goldschmidt; great-grandchildren, Landon, Bentley, Eddie, Aria, Alexander, Olivia, Lyla, Traeger, Aiden, Jamie, Kennedy, Alyssa, Nathanael, Josiah, Simon, and Bailey; siblings, Ken (Mary Lynn) Meulemans, Dianne (Jerome) Schreiber, Joyce (Glenn) Hansen, Dennis (Chris) Meulemans, and Jeff (Carol) Meulemans; siblings-in-law, Barb Ferguson, Mary (Jerry) Schumacher, James (Donna) Wildenberg, and Anne (Doug) Stangel.

He is preceded in death by parents, Norb and Ceil Meulemans; parents-in-law, Chris and Monica Wildenberg; sister, Donna (Paul) Uitenbroek; brothers-in-law, John Wildenberg and Gerald Ferguson; two nephews, aunts, and uncles.

Family and friends may visit at St. Clare Catholic Parish – St. Paul Site, 437 Main St., Wrightstown, on Thursday, July 7, from 1:00 pm – 3:30 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 4:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established. Vern’s family would like to send a special thank you to St. Paul Elder Services and the St. Paul Hospice for their compassionate care that they gave him in his last days. Interment St. Paul Parish Catholic Cemetery. Cotter Funeral and Cremation Care is assisting the family with arrangements.
