Timothy John Dewane

Timothy John Dewane “Tim” Timothy John Dewane, 61, passed away Monday, December 27, 2010 in his home in Fairfield, California. Tim was born to Dorothy and Sheridan Dewane on June 15, 1949 in Green Bay, Wisconsin, and grew up in Cooperstown. He graduated from Denmark High School in 1967, and attended the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point. Tim moved to California in 1972 where he worked as a marine carpenter. He married Kay Wilson on March 31, 1979. In late 1982 he suffered paralyzing injuries due to an accident on the job while working as a foreman. Tim completed his degree at California State University, Dominguez Hills. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Anne Marie, and niece Erin Rosek. Survivors include his wife Kay Dewane; daughter Kelly Dewane; stepdaughter Casey Wilson; grandchildren Cody, Alexandria, Nicholas and Sheridan; Brothers and sisters Terrence (Joanne) Dewane, Mary (Bob) Rosek, Gerard (Judy) Dewane, Kathleen (Pat) Masse, Ruthann (Don) Dunphy; his godmother Rita Wellens; nieces and nephews Debbie Taylor, William Taylor, Trina Rabida, TJ (Lisa) Dewane, Carrie Masse, Maggie Rosek, Ellen Dunphy, Mike Rosek, Ruthann Masse, Jack Dunphy, Dylan Masse, Bridget Dunphy; and numerous cousins. Tim was a loving husband, father, brother and son. He loved discussing politics and music, was an avid reader, and appreciated photography and the blues. Tim was known as a great storyteller, and enjoyed talking about “the old days”. At a young age, he was given a broken body, but that never slowed his ambitions. He was thoughtful, intelligent, spiritual, extremely sharp, and perceptive. He will be greatly missed by his family in California and Wisconsin. A memorial service will be held at Maribel Community Center on January 8, 2011 at 1:00PM.
