Thomas Skogg

Thomas L. Skogg, 85, died Tuesday, February 17, 2015. The son of Gilbert E. and Florence M. Skogg, Tom was born in Green Bay on March 4, 1929. He was a lifelong resident of Green Bay, attending Howe School and graduating from Green Bay East High School. Tom was a graduate of the University of Wisconsin, Madison. He attended the Counter-Intelligence Academy, Baltimore. During the Korean War, he served in the United States Army as a special agent in Counter-Intelligence. Tom was a Realtor, establishing and managing The Skogg Company Inc. He was active in community affairs and at one time was recognized for his contributions by being named “Outstanding Man of the Year” for the State of Wisconsin. Survivors include his wife, Marilyn; son, Rick Skogg of Green Bay and his daughters Erika and Karissa, Boseman, MT; daughter, Kathryn Skogg of Arlington, VA. He is also survived by his sister Marianne Janssen of Manitowish Waters, WI and her family: Dr. Craig Janssen and sons Eric and Evan Janssen of Green Bay, son Kevin Janssen and his son Nicholas of Egan, MN, son, Dr. Brian Janssen of Dallas, TX, daughter Erin Janssen and her daughters Kayla and Kiara of Verona, WI. His sister Julianne Neufeld of Scottsdale, AZ and her family: Carrie Hietpas of Scottsdale, AZ, daughter Dr. Julia Neufeld and her daughters Paige and Jenna of Scottsdale, AZ, son Ross Neufeld of Island Park, ID and his son Weston and daughter Emma, son Matthew Neufeld of Sarasota, FL and his son Logan. He is also survived by cousins Lee Ann Michalske of Sturgeon Bay, WI, Melinda Bricker, Iowa City, IA, and Richard Skogg of Milwaukee. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert and Florence Skogg and brother Jerome Skogg. At his request there will be no visitation or funeral service. Cotter Funeral Home is assisting the family.
