Thomas J Kiedinger

November 4, 1934 — November 11, 2019

Thomas Kiedinger went to his Lord and Savior on November 11, 2019. Tom was born to John and Gladys Kiedinger, and on November 4th celebrated his 85th birthday. He received his bachelor’s degree in business from St. Norbert College. Tom began his career at WBAY television during college building sets and then moving into sales. He was also their very first cameraman. After retiring in 1991 from WBAY he spent several years in sales at McKenna Ad Agency. Tom was a recipient of the American Advertising Association Silver Medal award for his commitment to excellence through work, community involvement, creative ability and contributions to the advancement of advertising. He earned the respect of his colleagues and competitors for his loyalty, service and integrity.

Tom’s life revolved around his love for his faith and his family. In August of 1959, he married the love of his life, Barbara Biebel. Together they raised five children. As a family, they loved to sing, camp, ski and travel. Disney World was a favorite destination for the family. Tom enjoyed volunteering, wood working, golfing, playing bocce ball and biking. His retirement years were spent with Barb RV’ing and enjoying many warm winters in Naples, Florida. Tom found great joy with his 11 grandchildren. He found great nourishment in his Catholic Faith, ending each day kneeling by his bedside in prayer.

Tom realized the importance of serving both his country and the community. Through the Reserve Officer Training Corps, Tom achieved the rank of Captain. He was involved in many community organizations including Green Bay Big Brothers and Sisters, St. Vincent hospitals, St. Josephs Academy, Lac de Baie Girl Scout council, and took pride in building homes for Habitat for Humanity and ringing bells for the Salvation Army. He also served as a member of the Green Bay City Counsel and was cofounder of the Green Bay Christmas Parade.

He is survived by his wife Barbara, his children Kathy (Tom) Ordahl of St. Paul MN, Dan (Rhonda) Kiedinger of Viroqua WI, David (Julianne) Kiedinger of Yorktown VA, Amy (Peter) Van Wyk of Naples FL, Joe (Danica) Kiedinger of Green Bay WI, and his grandchildren, Trevor, Jack, Seth, Lauren, Preston, Sophia, Ava, Alex, Alina, Aria and Amelia along with many nieces, nephews and friends that will never forget the joy and love that Tom brought into their lives.

He was proceeded in death by his mother and father, Gladys and John Kiedinger and his brother Jack Kiedinger.
