Terrance "Terry" Van Zeeland

Terrance L. Van Zeeland, 68, Kaukauna, passed away peacefully, Thursday, October 14, 2010. He was born February 13, 1942 in Appleton, to the late Norbert and Marion (Walsh) Van Zeeland. Terry graduated from Wrighstown High School with the class of 1961. He served in the National Guard from 1964-1969 and completed the Farmer’s Short Course at U.W. Madison. On August 8, 1967 Terry was united in marriage to the love of his life, Jeanette Humblet, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Oneida. Together they celebrated 42 years of marriage before Jeanette passed away on November 1, 2009. Together they raised 5 children while managing the family dairy farm. Terry enjoyed snowmobiling, traveling, camping, hunting, fishing, and most of all spending time with his family and friends. Terry will be dearly remembered by many special memories, but most of all for the way he lived a Christian life showing kindness to others and compassion for anyone in need. Survivors include his children: Shana (Paul) Farrell, Christa (Lyle) Uitenbroek, Kim (John) Connelly, and Terry (special friend, Jenifer Murphy) Van Zeeland; 11 grandchildren that held special places in his heart: Shannon and Lauren Farrell, Connor and Courtney Uitenbroek, Claire, Evan, Rachael, Leah, and Sarah Connelly, Felicia and Lukas Van Zeeland; brothers and sisters: Pat Van Schyndel, Tom (Maureen), Jerry (Carol), Don (Noreen) Van Zeeland, Joyce (Bob) Lamers, Dale (Muriel) Van Zeeland, Linda (Jerry) Boylan, Roger (Joyce) Van Zeeland; sisters-in-law, Joyce Weitzel and Sharon Humblet; and brother-in-law, Doug (Yvonne) Humblet. Terry was preceded in death by his loving wife, Jeanette; his parents; his oldest son, Shawn, who was a special part of his life; brothers-in-law, Don Humblet and George Weitzel; nephew, Steven Lawrenz; and a niece, Mary Lynn Van Zeeland. Family and friends may call Sunday, October 17, 2010 at St. Clare Catholic Parish/St. Paul Site, 437 Main Street, Wrightstown, from 3:00p.m. until 7:00p.m., with a parish prayer service at 6:30p.m. Visitation will continue on Monday at the church from 9:00a.m. until 10:45a.m. The funeral mass will be celebrated at the church on Monday at 11:00a.m. with Rev. Dennis Bergsbaken officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul Catholic Cemetery. Cotter Funeral Home is assisting the family.
