Steven Richard Platz passed away unexpectedly on June 28, 2017 at the age of 36 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in Saint Louis, Missouri. Steve is the son of Donald and Nancy (Wicker) Platz of Menomonie, Wisconsin. He was born on June 11, 1981 in Flagstaff, AZ and grew up in New Berlin, WI before moving to St. Louis, MO where he was employed by The Boeing Company for the past thirteen years. Steve graduated from Eisenhower High School in New Berlin, Wisconsin. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and his Master’s Degree from Washington University in Saint Louis, Missouri in Mechanical Engineering. Steve is survived by his parents, two brothers Thomas Platz of Cedar Falls, Wisconsin, Mark Platz from Boyceville, Wisconsin and his girlfriend Annie Santos from Melbourne Australia. Preceding Steve in death were his grandparents Christine and Edward Wicker and Arno and June Platz, uncle Paul Wicker and cousin Dan Wicker. The funeral will be held at Cotter Funeral Home 860 N Webster St, DePere, Wisconsin on Saturday July, 8, 2017. Visitation will be from 9:00 to 11:00 with a service to follow. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Muscular Dystrophy Association or Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy. Steve chose to give the gift of life to several others as an organ donor.
