It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Steven Jon Hendra, son of Thomas and Nancy (Fernea), at his home on February 18th, 2022. Steve was born in Appleton and raised in Green Bay and after graduating from Abbott Pennings in 1990, he would begin his journey to see the rest of the United States, settling in Jackson Hole, WY, Taos, NM and then back to Wisconsin to call Door County home. Steve was known for his love of the Grateful Dead, his little dog Phoebe, scuba diving, and his huge heart, which led him to become a registered nurse. He will be missed greatly as he truly touched everyone he encountered.
Steve is survived by his mom Nancy Hendra, sister Amy Grunewald (Gregg), brother Tom Hendra Jr (Tracy), sister Holly Hendra, brother Chad Hendra (Stephanie), brother Tim Hendra, brother Adam Hendra (Kirsten), sister Stacey Hendra, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Steve was preceded in death by his father Thomas Hendra Sr, his little sister Katie Marie, his maternal and paternal grandparents, his uncle Steve Fernea, and his aunts Audrey Blight and Marge Hendra.
Family and friends may visit at Cotter Funeral Home, 860 N. Webster Ave., De Pere, on Saturday, February 26 from 11:00am to 1:00pm. A short service and sharing of memories will conclude the afternoon at 1:00pm.
