Stephen A. “Steve” Steinberger, age 93, of Stangelville, passed away Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at Emerald Shores in Kewaunee. The son of the late George and Frances (Kunesh) Steinberger was born in the Town of Franklin on March 13, 1923. He farmed on the family dairy farm all his life, first with his parents, and later ran it on his own. Steve was an avid gardener, and enjoyed flowers, as well as dancing and listening to polka music. He was a lifelong member of St. Therese Parish-St. Lawrence Site in Stangelville, where he was a member of the Holy Name Society and sang in the choir. Survivors include his nephews Edward (Claire) Steinberger and Gerald (Diane) Steinberger; special friend Ruth Herlache as well as great-nieces, great-nephews, other family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers: John, Joseph (Pauline), Edward (Emily), Victor (Lucy) and James, as well as a sister, Marie Steinberger. Family and friends may visit at St. Therese Parish- St. Lawrence Site, N2085 County Road AB, Denmark, on Friday, September 2, from 9:00am until 10:15am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30am with Fr. Dennis Drury officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Cotter Funeral Home of Denmark is assisting the family. Our family would like to thank the caregivers at Silver Leaf Assisted Living, Linden Manor and Emerald Shores in Kewaunee for the care and concern they gave to Steve, as well as to his friends and church family for their visits.
