Stephen J. Classon

Stephen J. Classon, 65, of De Pere, WI, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 19, 2012, in Florida, surrounded by his loving family. Steve was born August 17, 1947, in Ashland, WI, son of the late Stephen G. and Donna K. Classon. After growing up in Wisconsin and Georgia, Steve’s family moved to Pennsylvania where he graduated from Richland High School, Gibsonia, PA, in 1965. He returned to Wisconsin, earning a business degree from St. Norbert College in DePere in 1969. He married Karen Brzezinski on February 17,1984, in Green Bay, WI. Steve and Karen enjoyed working together in their real estate development and management company. A man who loved life, Steve filled the room with his presence. He was an avid reader with a keen intellect and wit. Flying was one of his passions. He was devoted to his family and cherished his many friends. Survivors include his wife, Karen; son Stephen Grant (Michelle) Classon, De Pere; grandchildren Isabella and Madison Classon; daughter Gretchen Classon (Richard) Goldman, Highland Park, IL; grandchildren Nathaniel (Spike) and Lily Goldman; brother David N. (Judi) Classon, Green Bay, nephew Dave Classon and niece Jennifer Classon; sister Dianne (Bob) Beyer, Oconto Falls, nieces Kiana Weinschenk and Katie Stubbe and nephew Todd Degner. Steve was preceded in death by his parents. Family and friends will gather for a memorial service Sunday, December 9, 2012, at Cotter Funeral Home, 860 N. Webster, De Pere, WI. Visitation at 10:00 am; service at 11:30 am by Rev. Ron Helgerson; followed by lunch and a celebration of Steve’s life at Lorelei Inn, 1412 S. Webster, Green Bay, WI. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
