Shirley A. Carlson

April 21, 1928 — January 1, 2021

Shirley A. Carlson passed away peacefully on January 1, 2021 at New Perspective Senior Living where she enjoyed the last 3 1/2 years. Shirley was born on April 21, 1928.

On September 4, 1948 she married Orville A. Carlson and they celebrated 56 years of marriage. Orville preceded her in death in 2004. Much to their dismay they never had any children, but her nephew/God Son Eric and Jill Le Fevre were "the children she never had.”

Shirley was a talented woman. She played piano and sang in bands with Orville in their early years. This is how they met. She was a wonderful painter, quilter, knitter and crafter. Shirley held many office jobs during her life and her feisty spirit will be missed by all. Her love for fashion and jewelry made her the "fashion Diva" we all knew and loved!

THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES!

Shirley was a member of Ascension Lutheran Church and was involved in Christ Care for many years where she made wonderful friends.

Besides her husband Orville, Shirley was preceded in death by her parents Jake and Laura Eliason, nephew Eric Le Fevre, brother Bernard Le Fevre and "Mother Millie" Zeugner.

Shirley is survived by her brothers: Ronald and Nona Le Fevre and Jim and Christine Le Fevre, niece and best friend Jill Le Fevre and her children: Kari and Bryan Compe (Cameron and Callee), Victoria and Josh Engels (Drew) and Beau and Abby Le Fevre, nephew Steve Le Fevre and his children Kenneth and David, niece Ronona Fairey and her children Cole (Heidi) Fairey, Dylan (Justine) Fairey and Cody Fairey, sister-in-law Herminy Le Fevre. Other special people in her life are Mariann Marcks, Jay and Helen Marcks, Jean Eliason and Keith and Sherry Marcks also numerous other relatives and friends.

Due to the current health situation surrounding COVID-19, private services will be held at Ascension Lutheran Church. Cotter Funeral and Cremation Care is assisting the family.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established.

We would like to thank the wonderful caring staff at New Perspective who she truly loved and the caring, professional staff at Unity Hospice.
