Sara Elizabeth (Schweiner) Malay, 44, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, October 7, 2013 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. She was born to Mathew J. Schweiner and Marie (DuBois) Schweiner, December 24, 1968, in Denmark, WI. Sara graduated from Denmark High School in 1987 and received BS in Social Work from the University of Wisconsin – Oshkosh in 1992. She married Tim Malay at St. James Catholic Parish, Cooperstown, WI, on July 12, 1997. For 19 years, Sara worked at the Aging Resource Center of Kewaunee and Manitowoc Counties, her most recent role as the Director of Aging Resources. Sara was passionate about her work and committed to helping others, making a difference in the lives of many. She was both co-worker and friend. She was a natural leader, problem solver, role model and was instrumental in developing many programs and services throughout the community. Sara is survived by her husband, Tim and son, Sean. Sean was her pride and joy who filled her heart with tremendous love and happiness. Sara also found joy in baking, candy making, scrap booking, gardening, crocheting and then sharing it with all! She was a loving Godmother to Elaina, Abby, Greg, Maicie, Cameron and Alex. She is also survived by her parents, Mathew and Marie Schweiner; brothers and sisters and their families, Joan and Stan Tracey, children: Elisabeth, Laura, Tim, Greg, and Joe; Stephen and Claudia Schweiner, children: Max, Abby and Amy; Kathleen and Isaac Johnson, children: Nathan and Elaina; John and Tracey Schweiner, children: Sydney, Charlie, Maicie, and Pyper; Carl and Heather Schweiner, children: Reis and Aubry; Julie and Robert Heim, children: Breanna, Eric, and Mathew; Michael and Anne Schweiner, children: Benjamin, Cameron and Katelyn. She is survived by her aunts and uncles, Dan and Carol Ratajczak, Jim and Nancy DuBois, Ann and Richard DuBois, Marcella Dellemann and Laverne Sisel. She is survived by her great aunt Eunice Romuald. She was deeply devoted to her family. Her love and caring ways extended to her brothers and sisters and their families, to her co-workers and the greater community. She was loved by all. Family and friends may call Friday, October 11, 2013 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Knutson-Cotter Funeral Home, 536 Cty R, Denmark, where there will be a Parish Prayer Service at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will continue on Saturday at the funeral home from 9:00 a.m. until the procession leaves for All Saints Catholic Church in Denmark. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. Saturday at church, with Fr. Ron Colombo officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
