Sandra Altenhof

Sandra Margerison Altenhof, age 78, of Bellevue, WI and formerly of Mililani, HI, passed away February 17, 2024. The daughter of the late Alexander and Caroline (MacKenzie) Margerison was born January 25, 1946, in England. Sandra integrated to New Zealand at the age of 6 with her family. She married Lt. Col. Bruce D. Altenhof (USAF Retired) on May 15, 1990, in Hawaii, and they celebrated nearly 34 years of marriage. Sandra loved to square dance, travel, hula dance, sailing, and spending time by the ocean. She was also a talented squash player and animal lover. She was an active member of the Red Hatter’s Society.

Survivors include her husband, Bruce; children: Alex (Karen) Bird, Dean (Karina) Bird, Jason Bird, Roland (Natalie) Bird; siblings: David (significant other Sue Simcox) Margerison, June (Graeme) Spence, Peter (significant other Diane Forrest) Margerison, Caroline (Kevin) Vipond; step-children: Jeffrey (Christy) Altenhof and Linda (Brian) Ehnerd; 15 grandchildren: Zara, Jamie, Olivia, Alysha, Esme, Erin, Keira, Owen, Jared, Krysta, Caitlynn, Briana, Evan, Kelsey and Brooke.

She was preceded in death by her stepdaughter, Karen Aldrich.

Family and friends may visit at Cotter Funeral Home-Denmark, 536 County Rd. R, Denmark, on Saturday, February 24, 2024, from 4:00 to 6:00pm with a celebration of life service and memory sharing to be held at 6:00pm.
