Samuel Nicholas Holland

April 9, 1997 — March 28, 2024

Samuel Nicholas Holland, age 26, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, March 28th at his home in Little Rock, Arkansas. Sam was born on April 9, 1997 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Brian Holland and Wendy (Strom) Holland.

When Sam was growing up he was always curious and precocious. He often enjoyed the company of adults more than kids his own age. He was born 40 years old with a briefcase in his hand. He was polite and shook the hands firmly of every adult he met.

Sam graduated at the top of his class from Green Bay Southwest High School in 2015. He loved to learn and was constantly trying to be the best he could be. He graduated with high honors from University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Business in 2018 and was honored to be the flag bearer for the School of Business at his Commencement. Following graduation he began his Investment Banking career as an analyst for Bank of America/Merrill Lynch in Manhattan working with Mergers and Acquisitions. Next he moved to Boston as a private equity associate for HIG Capital. In August 2023 he began a new job as a private equity associate with The Stephens Group in Little Rock Arkansas, where he was currently employed.

Sam was a James Bond aficionado and had the complete collection of movies and watched them regularly. He also loved Star Wars and had a lightsaber in every color when he was a kid. He was a computer whiz and often helped out the many adults in his life with their laptops and technology needs. When he was in middle school and high school he was very involved with extracurricular activities, he played quarterback for the football team, played on the golf team, was a fantastic percussionist, a National Champion in DECA and had featured roles in the high school musicals. He was a jack of all trades and loved every minute of it!

Sam appreciated all genres of music, loved to perform as well as he appreciated a classical concert. He loved to play golf with his extended family as a kid and continued to play as an adult. His favorite place in the world was Door County, Wisconsin where he created many happy memories. He loved the Green Bay Packers and enjoyed his many trips to Lambeau Field. He was a proud Green Bay Packer Shareholder and shared that he was an NFL Owner in many job interviews. He was an expert at XBOX and played often to blow off steam. Sam was extremely patriotic and was very proud to be an American citizen.

Sam loved the German language and he worked hard to be proficient in it. This is where he met many friends including Jacqui, his girlfriend from Germany.

Sam is survived by his mother, Wendy (Michael Kapp) Holland, and his father, Brian (Michelle) Holland, and his siblings; Emily (Darian Goulding) Holland, Christopher (Alison) Holland, Jennifer (Ryan) Holland-Haigh, Nicholas and Nathan Kapp, Jenna (Dave) Hartman, Lauren Dowd, Brett (Nicole) Stuckel.
