Ryan Lee Counard, 40, of Green Bay, passed away Wednesday, December 20,2017 from a heart attack. He was born to Lee and Joliene (Vandertie) Counard August 30, 1977. He is survived by his daughter Kayla and his son Damon. He is also survived by his father and mother Lee Counard and Joliene (Vandertie); a sister, Renee (Counard) Mc Grath her husband Jim Mc Grath and their son, Ryan Mc Grath. At Ryan’s birth, medical staff and family members were impressed by the large size of his hands. At the time, comments were made that he was destined to be an artist. Well, that prophecy came to fruition for Ryan. His claim to fame was and remains his artistic achievements. As a talented tattoo artist, people came from all over the region to get a tattoo from him. He was known for his amazing detail and color schemes. Most importantly, Ryan loved people, and was a compassionate listener who had a great sense of humor. Ryan married Sarah Bessert and together they celebrated the birth of two amazing children. Kayla followed in the steps of her aunt Renee and became an accomplished gymnast. Damon loved sports, and could swing a mean baseball bat. The family enjoyed camping trips, bon fires and watching movies in their own downstairs theater. Ryan enjoyed his many cars and especially his Harley motorcycles. He took many trips to Harley festivities in the fall. He took pride in his family heritage, and was especially proud of his grandparents and many uncles. He thoroughly enjoyed deer hunting on the family property in Door County. He harvested many deer and had a few trophies to brag about. Ryan will be greatly missed by family and friends. Never being happy with everyday expectations, he can now do it “his way” in the great beyond with departed friends and family members at his side. I believe the party has already started. We know he will invite his grandparents, Ervin and Julia (Miller) Counard, and Elmer and Anne (De Decker) Vandertie as well as his uncle, Darrrell Counard; cousins, Kim (Counard) Singh and Greg Counard, his Godfather. There will be punk music for all to enjoy. Family and friends may visit at Resurrection Catholic Church, 333 Hilltop Dr, Green Bay, on Thursday, January 11, from 1:00pm until 4:30pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 5:00pm with Fr. Tim Shillcox, O.Praem officiating. Ryan’s wish to be cremated will be honored. Cotter Funeral Home and Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be expressed at www.cotterfuneralhome.com.
