Ruth Shirley (Martz) Bartuska

Ruth S. Bartuska, 90, passed away Sunday, February 1, 2015 at Angel’s Touch in De Pere. She was born November 30, 1924 in Marinette, WI, daughter to the late Elmer and Violet (Bromund) Martz. She is a 1944 graduate of Evanston Township High School. Ruth married Robert Bartuska on March 13, 1944, in Chicago and they enjoyed over 55 years of marriage together. Robert preceded her in death on July 10, 1999. She began her career as a telephone operator in Chicago. Her hobbies through the years included needlepoint, sewing, crossword puzzles, reading, and cooking. She enjoyed walking to the local store to get her newspaper and visiting with people. Ruth also enjoyed spending time with her cat. She was a proud member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Park Ridge, IL. She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Eugene and Helen Martz, Evanston, IL; and will also be missed by her dear friends and neighbors. Private services were held.
