Ruth Schuman

Ruth Schuman, 86, Maribel, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, December 23, 2011 at her home. She was born May 31, 1925 in the town of Cooperstown, daughter to the late Louis and Leona (Pautz) Jaeger. She married Edward Schuman on May 8, 1948 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Maribel, and he preceded her in death in 1986. Ruth operated Schuman’s Bar in Maribel for 32 years, and stayed tending bar for many years after. Her favorite past-time was shaking dice and enjoying a few beers. Survivors include her daughter, Carol Becker; a grandson, Kenneth Becker; and a sister-in-law, Mildred Jaeger. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and two brothers, Harvey and Reuben (Eleanor). Family and friends may call Monday, December 26, 2011, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Knutson-Cotter Funeral Home, 536 Cty R, Denmark. Interment will be in St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery, Maribel.
