Ruth L. (Chase) Lasee

Ruth L. Lasee, 85, of De Pere, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Wednesday, May 1, 2013. The daughter of William and Esther (Nelson) Chase was born October 3, 1927 in Green Bay. As a child, she was actively involved with the Salvation Army alongside her mother. She later graduated from Green Bay West High School and worked at Green Bay Drop Forge and Borden’s before meeting her husband, Vincent. She married Vincent Lasee on June 19, 1954 at St. Willebrord’s Parish in Green Bay. Together, they celebrated nearly 59 years of marriage. Ruth and Vince were blessed with five children and three grandchildren, who brought her great joy. She was an avid knitter, sewer, painter, loved solving crossword puzzles with Vince, and enjoyed playing games with her children and grandchildren. Survivors include her husband, Vince, children: Paul Lasee, Mike Lasee. Peggy (Dave) Peters, and Terry Haack; grandchildren: Greg Peters, Katherine and Christine Lasee; a sister: Dorothy Haack; in-laws: Fran Lasee, Jobie (Rose) Lasee, Joan Reis, Eleanor Lasee and Marge Lasee. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, William and Esther, a daughter, Marilyn, an infant brother, Donald, and numerous other family members. Family and friends may visit at Cotter Funeral Home, 860 N Webster Ave, De Pere, on Sunday, May 5, from 4-8pm, with a prayer service at 7:30pm. Visitation will continue on Monday, from 10:00-10:45am, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 4805 Sportsman Drive, Ledgeview. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am Monday, with the Rev. Richard Getchel officiating. Interment in Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery, De Pere.
