Ruth Esther (Haese) Schmidt

August 17, 1938 — October 10, 2017

Ruth E. Schmidt, age 79, died peacefully in her sleep on October 10, 2017 at Bay Harbor Assisted Living in Suamico. She was born August 17, 1938 in Wayside to the late Clarence and Elizabeth (Jensen) Haese. She married Loyle Schmidt at Zion Lutheran Church in Wayside. Ruth was a stay-at-home mother in Manitowoc. She moved to Silver Cliff in 1996, and then later moved to Mishicot in 2016. She most recently resided at Bay Harbor Assisted Living in Suamico. She loved life, taking care of all the wild animals up in Silver Cliff. She loved to go fishing, putting puzzles together, and crossword puzzles. She also loved to spend time with her family. Survivors include her three daughters and one son-in-law: Ellen (Russell) Holschbach, Northeim; Lori Schmidt, Sheboygan Falls; Sallie Zuege, Mishicot; eight grandchildren: Timothy (Shiela) Holschbach; Aaron (Stephanie) Holschbach; Amanda (Jason) Vande Loo; Matthew (Lana) Zuege; seven great-grandchildren. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Loyle Schmidt. Private family graveside services were held.
